So... About 2 weeks after we moved, my car decided to die while on my way to work.
Ryan makes fun of me for my description of the whole situation... Here is a vague recollection of the conversation...
Ryan: What happened to the car again? Weren't you watching the temperature gauge?
Kristin: Well, I wasn't really paying attention to the temperature gauge because I was low on gas and was paying attention to that gauge. Then I noticed the car was stuck at 3000 RPMs. Then, when I tried to turn off the road, The power steering seized up. When I stopped the car, the temperature was tapped out and the car was billowing white smelly smoke.
Ryan: Did you hear any sounds?
Kristin: What? No - I was too busy paying attention to my gas gauge.
Ryan: OK - Well, did the smoke smell like anything?
Kristin: (said matter of factly) Like burning oil and rubber, from the front corner.
Ryan: (getting frustrated with my lack of vehicle knowledge) Huh? Nothing in that area of the hood would smell like rubber or oil.
Kristin: Well it did. And the lady cop who was with me smelled the same thing.
Ryan: Ooook. Did you turn the car off, or did it turn it self off?
Kristin: Seriously? I don't remember... I think it was me. I was just trying to get off the road so I didn't get hit by any cars. Isn't that what I am supposed to do?
Ryan: Yes, Baby. Thank you for not getting hit by any cars.
After this day, we carpooled to work for about a week. We weighed the options of fixing the car vs. getting another one. We got tired of waking up early and then driving around Old Town trying to find meeting points. So, to make a long story short (and get in the Halloween spirit)...
I am very much enjoying my 2008 Ford Edge! Her name is Miss Pumpkin. She has all the features Mr. Lanc-r didn't have!
Like:
A/C
cruise control
tinted windows
full lit dash board
The list can continue, but I will stop.
Coming soon - Pictures of my OTHER RIDE! Oh, just wait!
